Alvor Holiday
Alvor is a quaint, old port at the mouth of the Rio Alvor, about 20km east of Lagos. It boasts stunning views across a natural lagoon and the Atlantic Ocean, and is a haven for wildlife. Alvor is an interesting association of old and new, traditional and modern, epitomised by its beautiful waterside promenade. Cobbled streets and cottages sit next to bars and restaurants in a happy, sun-kissed marriage. This resort appeals to both families and couples alike.
Older children will love the extensive range of watersports available from most of the beaches. There's also an aquapark and a horse riding centre nearby. Adults may prefer a peaceful round of golf and will enjoy the extensive range of restaurants and bars. Alvor offers facilities for everyone in a traditional Portuguese environment.
