Armacao De Pera Holiday

Armacao de Pera is situated on the south coast of Portugal, near the busier resorts of Albufeira and Portimao. The resort name is derived from its days as a commercial fishing village - 'armacao' means tuna net, and 'Pera' was the name of a nearby village - the fishing net of Pera. Today, the charms from those centuries can still be found. A wander through the older parts of town will take you down narrow streets past quaint fishing cottages. Other parts of the resort are developing quickly and offer restaurants, bars and even a disco or two.

The resort boasts one of the longest stretches of beach in Portugal. It's wide, sandy and beautiful with ample general facilities. Families will find enjoyment in the watersports on offer, the shopping centres and the nearby waterpark. Couples can relax in the romantic atmosphere of the old town and the beauty of the beach. The nightlife in Armacao de Pera is plentiful and varied, and if you like fresh fish, the restaurants won't disappoint.
