Sunny Beach Holiday

Sunny Beach is the largest resort on the Black Sea Riviera. Like many of the resorts in Bulgaria, it has been purpose-built to accommodate the many national and international tourists who flock here to enjoy the warm weather and beautiful beach. The semicircular bay offers calm waters - ideal for swimming and watersports. There's a tranquil park and a popular pedestrianised promenade - a hive of activity lined with stalls and snack joints.

Sunny Beach is a place for all the family to come and enjoy the varied attractions of a lively purpose-built resort. These include not only water-based activities but also beach volleyball, tennis, horse riding and others. Evenings can get fairly lively with a good range of bars and nightclubs. Floor shows and folk nights are popular, and help to bring a little touch of tradition and culture in to this modern resort. The bright national costumes, the unique folklore and a glass of cool Bulgarian beer will soon transport you back to a time of old.

Beaches

A landscape of sloped dunes borders the broad and gently shelving sandy beach which stretches for up to 12.8 kilometres. There is a wide choice of beach and watersports to choose from including windsurfing, para-gliding and water-skiing.

Shopping

Local arts and crafts are easily procured from the variety of pavement stalls around the resort. There is also ample opportunity to purchase souvenirs on the central pedestrianised street. Also try the fourth largest city in Bulgaria, Bourgas, where electrical goods and clothes shopping in particular make a good bargain.

Nightlife

In the evenings, there is much emphasis on local culture, music and dancing, as well as a few discos and several bars which play Western music. The local beer and wine is popular with tourists as well as very good value.

Local Specialities

There are numerous restaurants and cafés in Sunny Beach serving everything from fresh fish to fast food. Why not try the delicious 'shopska' salad, comprising tomatoes, cucumber, onions and black olives topped with grated cheese?
