Kalo Chorio Holiday

On the north coast of Crete 10km southeast of Agios Nikolaos and east of Heraklion, little Kalo Chorio is a complete contrast to some of its livelier neighbours: it is a peaceful, traditionally Greek resort. You come here to experience the 'real Greece'. Its hillside position means it boasts some eye-catching views along the coast.

Beaches

There are three sandy beaches within walking distance of the centre of the resort. These can get very crowded during the summer months.

Shopping

Head to nearby Aghios Nikolaos for shopping. Here you'll find many boutiques selling souvenirs and local handicrafts. The weekly market sells some delicious local produce enabling you to take a taste of Greece home with you.

Nightlife

Kalo Chorio is a quiet town used to living life at a sleepy pace. Nightlife here is therefore mellow, very easy-going and generally amounts to dinner and a drink with friends or locals in one of the tavernas.

Local Specialities

Kalo Chorio possesses a few local tavernas, most of which serve similar menus. A Greek culinary experience isn't complete without indulging in some Raki - the local drink. Soak it up with a fresh, Greek salad and local olives.
