Malia Holiday
You name it - Malia has it! Located 30km north of Agios Nikolaos, this town has a lively atmosphere and nightlife which lures young people to party until the early hours, particularly in July and August. And for couples seeking a more laid-back atmosphere, there is the resort's quieter Old Town.
Beaches
Those who make it to the beach, one of the best on the island, can relax on the fine, golden sand which stretches between three and five kilometres. With plenty of sunbeds, parasols and a host of watersports, there's lots to keep you occupied if lounging in the sun gives you the urge to indulge in some sporty activity.
Shopping
There are plenty of shops in Malia, selling everything from leather goods and catering for those who want a small gift to take home, to those who feel the urge to indulge in some expensive jewellery.
Nightlife
Crowds flock to the endless bars and restaurant that occupy 'the strip' - a road which leads down to the seafront. Once the bars close, you can party the night away in one of the many discos that this resort has to offer.
Local Specialities
Whether it's Mexican, Indian or Greek cuisine that tickles your taste buds, you won't go without in Malia. It would be a shame to leave without having tried some Greek cuisine, the best of which can be found in the local tavernas which are a pleasure to discover.
