Plat Holiday

Plat is a tiny gem of a resort, situated on the dramatic southern coastline between Cavtat and Mlini. Backed by austere mountains with a beautiful shoreline coated in pine and cypress trees, it began life as a fishing village. Today, the resort is dominated by a purpose-built holiday village that nestles on the hillside between the main coastal road and the Bay of Zupa.

Our accommodation is part of this holiday village and therefore benefits from an excellent array of activities and facilities. Regular bus and boat services operate from the resort of Plat to Dubrovnik city centre and Cavtat.

Beaches

There are several shingle beaches in Plat with gentle slopes and calm waters making it a good choice for families. Also popular with couples and those who like sunbathing with a view, the beaches are secluded and quiet, many with man-made bathing platforms. When you've topped up your tan, cool off in the shade of a tall pine tree or go for a snorkel with the colourful creatures of the Adriatic Sea. One of the beaches in the resort is naturist.

Shopping

The holiday village has a small shopping mall with a well-equipped minimarket. For more choice, head to Dubrovnik where you'll find elegant boutiques, street stalls and souvenir shops. Take home some handmade jewellery for a good quality, unique reminder of your time in Croatia.

Nightlife

As darkness descends on Plat, life in this tiny village becomes even sleepier. There is a small nightclub in the holiday village, but that's about the extent of the high life. Most guests spend their evenings relaxing with a romantic, sunset walk or a chilled glass of crisp Croatian wine.

Local Specialities

At mealtimes, the holiday village has a traditional-style taverna and several cafés serving both Croatian and international cuisine. The menus are extensive, the food is delicious and the staff are friendly. For an even wider choice, head to bustling Dubrovnik, or for an authentic dining experience, venture inland. Wherever you go, you'll find fresh fish, pork and veal featuring heavily in the cooking. Try 'brodet' - a hot, peppery fish stew that will wake up your tastebuds.
