Umag Holiday

Umag is located on the west side of the Istrian coastline, 40km north of Porec. Its charming small town character, with its medieval basilicas and beautiful scenery, have long been popular with tourists. With picturesque cobbled streets, attractive architecture and pretty squares, the compact Old Town sits on a headland overlooking the large semi-circular bay and marina. The central area is pedestrianised with lots of shops, bars, restaurants and cafés, whilst the lovely promenade is lined with busy fish restaurants offering stunning views of fancy yachts side by side with simple fishing boats in the town's harbour. Along the wooded 'riviera' stand the modern tourist resorts that have all the facilities a holidaymaker could wish for and some of the best sporting facilities in the area.

Beaches

The immediate area has a number of pebbly and rocky beaches to explore, many of which have watersports facilities.

Shopping

There is a supermarket in the complex whilst many local shops, together with an arts and crafts market selling souvenirs, can be found in the resort centre.

Nightlife

Evenings in Umag can get quite lively, with bars, clubs and waterfront cafés vying for your custom.

Local Specialities

Reflecting its geographical location and stormy history, it is no surprise that Istrian cuisine is varied and has many influences from the surrounding countries. Fish is popular, as well as Slavic, Germanic, Italian and even cuisine laced with aromatic spices. Don't forget that this area is also a wine-producing region. So eat, drink and be merry!
