Taba Holiday

The coast that stretches south of the town of Taba is one of the most picturesque parts of the Red Sea Riviera. The dramatic mountains of the Sinai peninsula run down to quiet, unspoilt beaches with views across the Gulf of Aqaba to Jordan: you'll find it an idyllic place to soak up the Egyptian sunshine. The resort itself is fairly small, but the top class hotels strung along the coast have plenty of facilities to keep you occupied and entertained. As well as being a good area from which to discover some fascinating historical sites - from the pyramids in Cairo and the Coloured Canyon of Petra in Jordan - it also has excellent diving, snorkelling and watersports. Taba offers outstanding value for money for a winter holiday.

Beaches

Taba lies seductively on a stunning stretch of powdery white sand, lapped by the translucent waters of the Red Sea. Offshore, dazzling reefs and huge schools of fish draw scuba diving enthusiasts into the gentle waves.

Shopping

Shopping is mostly limited to hotel shops where you will find a selection of souvenirs and gifts.

Nightlife

Nightlife is mainly based within the hotels where air-conditioned, elegant bars and lively discos can keep you up until the early hours.

Local Specialities

There are plenty of opportunities to indulge in some traditional Egyptian cuisine during your holiday. 'Kofta' - grilled mincemeat seasoned with spices - is one speciality, whilst succulent chicken or lamb kebabs served with parsley are also extremely popular.
