Gerakina is quite a small settlement but with plenty of tourist facilities. It manages to retain its Greek charm partly due to the size and partly due to the warmth of the Greek people.
Beaches
The beach at Gerakina leads down to translucent waters where you can cool off from the sun's rays. It's a great location for sun worshippers looking for a beach on which they can completely relax.
Shopping
Gerakina has some good shopping if you're looking for something to take home such as local handicrafts, jewellery or souvenirs. However this isn't the place to come for boutiques and designer labels.
Local Specialities
Try some of the local cuisine for a real taste of Greece. Fresh fish and shellfish are particularly popular in Halkidiki. They will usually be served with a Greek salad, and washed down with a glass of local ouzo.
