Kriopigi Holiday
If you fancy mixing sandy beaches with more dramatically hilly countryside, you should consider this quiet rural area beside the clear waters of the Aegean. Kriopigi (cold spring in Greek), is a handsome old village with a newer hotel area. The original town is typically Macedonian, with red-tiled roofs and secluded terraces. Located 100km from Thessaloniki airport, Kriopigi is the perfect place to sit and unwind.
Beaches
The beaches are mainly of sand, great for the sun worshipper. Like its neighbours, Kriopigi has a beach of sand, tranquil seas and stunning views to the Sithonia Peninsula. Here you can also enjoy a wide range of watersports.
Shopping
The old village of Kriopigi doesn't specialise in sophisticated shopping. However you will be able to purchase the basics and some jewellery to take home as a reminder of your holiday.
Nightlife
The nightlife in Kriopigi tends to be fairly low-key but entertainment can certainly be found in the restaurants and bars, including live music in a few places.
Local Specialities
You will find a selection of Greek restaurants located along the main road. Fresh fish is always a good choice alongside a fresh Greek salad complete with crumbly feta cheese and succulent olives.
