Santa Eulalia Holiday

Santa Eulalia is situated next to the only river in the Balearic Islands on the east coast of Ibiza, 19 km north of Ibiza Town. It is a smart, cosmopolitan resort and couples and families with older children love this former market town.

Beaches

There is a clean, sandy beach backed by an attractive promenade lined with palms and oleanders. The sand is soft, the sea is crystal clear and the beach shelves gently - it's excellent for swimming and watersports, including sailing and windsurfing.

Shopping

Throughout the summer there's a hippy market in the main square - the Ramblas - every day except Sunday. A unique part of Ibicencan culture, it's the ideal place to browse for gifts and souvenirs. Look out for Ibicencan pottery.

Nightlife

The style is quality rather than quantity. The writers and artists who established Santa Eulalia as a colony for foreigners have left a legacy of cafés, bars and restaurants rather than nightclubs and discos, of chat rather than song.

Local Specialities

Santa Eulalia has more places to eat, large and small, than you'd expect in a town of its size. Take a seat at one of the cafés and while away a few lazy hours over coffee and Ibicencan cheesecake. Visit the street the locals call the Tapas Street - this is the place to sample authentic Spanish food. Try Gazpacho: a spicy soup made with tomatoes, green peppers, garlic, onions and cucumber.
