Lido di Jesolo Holidays Holiday

Lido di Jesolo is the perfect getaway for those who like to combine a beach holiday with first-class sightseeing. Set alluringly on the Adriatic coast, Lido di Jesolo looks out over the rippling waters of the Venetian Lagoon with the magical canals of Venice barely an hour away by boat. Explore the wonders of this exquisite city and perhaps take a gondola through the romantic waterways. Make the most of Lido di Jesolo's golden shores and abundant amenities - you can play tennis or minigolf, splash at a waterpark and frolic at a fun fair.

While in Lido di Jesolo, why not take a trip out to the nearby islands of Murano, Burano and Torcello? Set adrift in the Venetian Lagoon, these legendary isles are a joy to behold. Since the 13th-century, Murano has been the centre of the Venetian glass industry and you can view the centuries old methods of glassblowing at a factory and perhaps even buy a couple of the sparkling creations as souvenirs or presents. Neighbouring Burano is a vibrant patchwork of brightly coloured houses and is renowned for making lace while Torcello is home to a stunning Byzantine cathedral complete with glittering mosaics and Attila the Hun's throne.

Beaches

Jesolo beach stretches for 15km along the full length of the resort. Made up of clean, golden sands, the beach gently shelves into the sea which is ideal for bathing. Why not try out some of the watersports on offer such as windsurfing and feel the fresh sea spray on your face or perhaps simply soak up the sun as you bask on the beach?

Shopping

Just set back from the beach, Lido di Jesolo boasts a great shopping strip which extends for about 10km along the resort. There are a host of designer Italian boutiques as well as shops selling local handicrafts including leatherwear, traditional Venetian glass and lace. Lido di Jesolo also has an array of jewellers selling beautiful pieces from all over Italy.

Nightlife

As the sun sets over Lido di Jesolo, the resort's many cocktail, disco and piano bars come to life. Whether your idea of a perfect evening is sipping a cappuccino in a piazza or dancing the night away under a disco glitter ball, Lido di Jesolo has something to suit everybody from tucked away little cafes to buzzing nightclubs which are open until the early hours.

Local Specialities

Italy is famous for its ice-cream so why not indulge yourself and treat your taste buds to a scoop or two of delicious tutti-frutti in one of Lido di Jesolo's ice-cream parlours? As the sun goes down, choose to sit outside in a pavement café and watch the cosmopolitan crowds go by before dining al fresco in one of the many pasta or fish restaurants. Towards the west end of the resort there are a number of very classy eateries which are particular favourites with the Venetians.
