Lagana Holiday
On the southeast coast, eight km from Zakynthos Town, Lagana is the largest and liveliest of the island's resorts. It is a magnet for lovers of nightlife who are spoilt for choice, although many of our hotels are away from the main strip, proving popular with families and couples of all ages looking for a bustling resort with a good selection of shops, bars and restaurants nearby.
Beaches
The sandy, gently shelving beach is just 100 metres from the resort centre and sprawls for three kilometres. It's not really for watersports fans - the famed loggerhead turtles take priority over everything, except pedalos. Sunbathers will be in their element though - soft sands, azure waters, sunloungers and parasols make Lagana one of the top spots in Zakynthos for working on your tan. Restaurants and cafés line the back of the beach so it's not far if you need to quench your thirst or indulge in a cooling ice-cream.
Shopping
Lagana has a good selection of shops geared towards tourists, from your basic minimarket, to the more elaborate gold and leather shops.
Nightlife
The choice of bars and nightspots in Lagana are a big pull for the younger crowd looking for lively nights out. The main strip leads down to the shore and is awash with late night clubs, loud music and fast food outlets. Smaller streets leading off the main drag have more family friendly bars, some specialising in English karaoke, live entertainment and Greek nights.
Local Specialities
Lagana has countless bars and restaurants - you can eat out in a different style virtually every night of the week. Lagana's restaurants take in English, Italian, Chinese, Indian and even Canadian cuisine!
