I Left My Heart in Split, Croatia

I Left My Heart in Split, Croatia

There is something regarding this Dalmatian city and its ambience that thrills me and it simply feels great being there. The important thing you have to keep in mind about Split is that it’s the main traveler harbor along the middle of the shore of Dalmatia.

The town itself is quite compact, concentrated on a very old,  massive Palace constructed for Diocletian in the 4th century, which in contrast to many other towns, has remained to be used throughout the hundred of years. If you have time for a excursion, explore the Roman ruins at Solin and the spectacular Unesco-listed town of Trogir. Both are conveniently reached by bus from Split. In summer season, Trogir can be reached by ferryboat from the town port.

It is not difficult to find where to have a meal in Split. All is dependent on what sort of food you are searching for but eating good in Split, implies go there where natives go. Thankfully Split has to offer for all types of tourists but especially for third ones that will find Dalmatian food as an one-of-a-kind mix of local fresh ingredients, traditional influences and the concealed treasures that will remain for life as memorable foodie’s pleasure. It does not mean you won’t eat well there but sticking to locals you can often find much better and even more affordable restaurants.

De-stressed and uncomplex, the Croatian town has all the makings of a beachfront party paradise. I’ve never explored in low season, but wouldn’t expect the city to be half as much entertaining then — I ‘d certainly highly recommend going to Split in the summer season when it’s occupied by young partygoers from around the Europe. So pack that backpack and do not forget your party hat — Split’s expecting you. Although the centre is packed with great sights and activities, the best Split accommodation can be found just outside the town centre – just check out our website and get in touch today:
