The city of choice is Bangkok, and it is so for a good reason. This city is huge and teems with life and celebration, along with a professional touch. People have always asked about things that make this city so special that everyone is so attracted to it. We will try and cover some key things that make Bangkok the best place for living in the World.
- Food: Isn’t this a good reason for you to move to a place? A variety of foods that can only be found in Bangkok has been on the top of the bucket list of many a foodie. And this is not an exaggeration at all. This city is known for having a 24-hour availability of street food for your benefit. Where else in the world can you get a taste of barbecued duck tongues, bird saliva soups, pig brain soups and the like? This is not yucky at all, to be honest. This is one of the extremes. Of course, you get some of the best steak that you have ever tasted in JW Marriott’s New York Steakhouse. If you are a foodie, apart from everything else, Bangkok will be a heaven for you.
- Costs: How do you feel about moving to New York, or Los Angeles? The first impulse would probably be “nah, it is costly”. That is the norm for almost every big city in the world. Not Bangkok. You can live in Bangkok in a very fine, luxury serviced apartment for as little as $1100 per month here. If you are on a budget, and you are willing to make a 6-month commitment or so on, you can get one for almost half of that cost! This city manages to stay cheap, despite the world class facilities available here. How is that for a bargain?
- Weather: This place can be a lovely one to live in, because it is always sunny here! Everyone loves the sunlight. It brings joy to our days. Since you will be living in the tropics, you will always find it great to live in. In fact, you might even get bored of the beautiful daylight if you live here for extended periods of time. You have been warned.
- Shopping: It is not a hyperbole, when we claim that you can get virtually anything in Bangkok. If you wish to look at some serious places to shop, the Chatuchak Weekend Market will be a wonderful place for you.Sprawled over 35-acres of land, this market is an attraction for people from around the world. You get food, clothing, furniture, artwork, books, antiques, plants, and even pets of all sorts in this market. You would find dancers and entertainers at every few steps in the market, and this is the state at a lot of markets in Bangkok.
- Communication: You can get by in Bangkok without having to be fluent in Thai language. Since there has been such a huge influx of people here, the locals know how to communicate with you, and even if you are not married to a Thai woman and are fluent enough, you will face no trouble staying here.
- Transportation: Going anywhere in the vicinity, from Bangkok, is a very cheap thing to do. Air Asia, the cheap flyer, has a very huge hub in Bangkok, and you can get connectivity to any place that you might wish to go to. Keep in mind that you get your tickets well in time, to avail the discounts. Of course, if you have flown before, you know this.
- No dearth of things to do: Let us make it clear. You can never get bored here, unless you force yourself to. There is always something to do in Bangkok. The weather, culture, exhibitions, concerts, flea markets, and other shows that keep buzzing at all times, can keep you distracted from your work enough, if you are in need of any refreshment.
- Safety: This place is very safe. You might have prejudices at first, but once you live here for any length of time, you would notice that you can even leave your stuff outside if you are going to the bathroom. Of course, this stands only if you are not a binge drinker, drug addict and the like. If that is the case, anything can crop up at any place around the world.
- Visa: You can get an Education Visa very easily here, if you enroll yourself into a Thai language course or the like. Of course, they will test you every three months in the immigration office, but if you are actually learning the language there, you will face no trouble. Unless you are there for work or for marriage, or jobs, this is the easiest way to be there.
- Social life: The plus side to such an inflow of immigrants in the city is that you would get to meet people from all around the world here. You will find people coming from the European countries, Americas, Russia, Asia, and literally everywhere. The possibilities and attractions in this city make such an influx possible. This is a good thing for you. It is very easy to make good friends here, as everyone is open to making new contacts. Just try and not get yourself overwhelmed.
And there it is. Bangkok can make you feel amazing, living on Earth, without spending a fortune. If you have a month or two of time with you, you should really take a trip there and enjoy what can be enjoyed. You will cherish it forever.
