Five Unbelievable Winter Resorts That Will Make You Feel Like Royalty

Winter holidays are often featured in the cinema as being luxurious and magical.

However, that’s not always the case when we go on holiday. These locations look like something right out of a film. If you can afford luxury ski holidays, you’ll certainly want to consider visiting these resorts.

  1. Chamonix Ski Resort

Chamonix Ski Resort is in the running for one of the most beautiful places on Earth and is the epitome of a luxury ski resort in the French Alps. It is perched just to the south of the highest peak in Europe, Mont Blanc. At 4,807 metres, Mont Blanc is a massive and humbling vista which can be seen from the Chamonix resort.

There’s a great deal of skiing available, with the length of the trails being 119 kilometers and an incredible total of 65 lifts! Beyond the skiing that’s available, there are many restaurants and spas available for relaxation after a long day on the mountain.

  1. Mürren Switzerland

Mürren features the Piz Gloria, the revolving restaurant featured in the Bond film On Her Majesty’s Secret Service. The scenery surrounding the resort is unmistakably majestic, no matter what time of year you visit, with views of hundreds of mountain tops.

Beyond the beautiful skiing, there are exciting events that take place throughout the year, from ski races to triathlons.

  1. Plan De Corones

Located in northeastern Italy in the Dolomite mountain range, Plan De Corones is one of the largest ski resorts in the area. Several mountain lodges and cabins are available, some of which are directly on the ski slopes so you’ll have little traveling to do when you want to get out on the hill.

There’s also the Spa Vitalis, a relaxing day spa, as well as a swimming pool, and a wellness spa.

  1. Val d’Isere

Here in L’EspaceKilly, France, this village and its architecture date back to the 13th century. The antique buildings and setting will no doubt be exciting to see, but the skiing is among the best in Europe as well. With 97 ski-lifts, the highest of which summits at 3,465 metres, there’s a diverse balance of skiing for those of all skill levels.

There are many lodges and chalet’s available, which are as cosy as they are pleasing to look at. Like a scene right out of a film, these lodges have everything you could need and want for your time spent away from home.

  1. Arosa

If you’re in the mood for a location that’s a bit more contemporary, look no further than Arosa, located in the Schanfigg Valley in Graubünden Switzerland.

There are amusing events to witness throughout the year. The Ice Snow Football game pits former players against each other and it all happens amidst the over 400 peaks that are visible from the Weisshorn restaurant, located 2,653 metres high.

Don’t miss the Arosa Music Theater, which hosts an opera on an outdoor stage underneath the starlight.
