Where the Adriatic Sea cuts into the mountains, there lies the small town of Perast. Perast is rich in history, architecture and culture. There are 19 palaces in Perast, most of them built during the 17th and 18th century.  While anchored in Perast, visit the Museum of Perast. The local people of Perast donate most of its artefacts. There are two islets near Perast, one of which is Our Lady of the Rocks, which holds a striking chapel. Our Lady of the Rocks is especially unique because it is the only artificially built island in the Adriatic Sea.

Budva, the tourist capital of Montenegro, is one of the Adriatic Sea’s oldest cities. Budva is the home to gorgeous sand beaches, cafes, bars, nightclubs and restaurants. Throughout the year, Budva turns into a theatre with live performances and plays and music events. Old town Budva is adjacent to the marina where you can come to moor your yacht. It is beautiful with exceptional boutiques that sell luxury goods.

Maybe Budva is too crowded and you prefer a place that is a bit lower key. If this is the case then consider sailing to Petrovac. Located betweenBudva and Bar, Petrovac is known for being calmer in comparison to Budva. It is famous for its beautiful beaches and historical monuments. There are mosaics dating back to the 3rd century that is a must see. Petrovac is also the home of two small islands that are ideal for diving enthusiasts, Katic and Sveta Nedjelja.

As far as Montenegro goes, it truly is the Pearl of the Mediterranean. Montenegro has an abundance of beaches, shops, restaurants, activities, history and culture. The Adriatic Sea is the gem of sailing. When looking for a place to sail, keep Montenegro fresh in your mind.
